Improving young people's health and wellbeing

This one day event is designed to bring together key partners across the wider public health system including commissioners, and service providers to build on concepts of resilience and to share and take learning from our experiences related to Young People’s health and wellbeing.

The period between 10-24 is an exciting one for many young people, but it is also one of increased risk which, if left unchecked and unmitigated, can exacerbate into adulthood with life-long consequences.

Evidence tells us that treating specific health issues separately does not address overall health and wellbeing needs for the next generation.  Young people’s physical and mental health is symbiotic, and they consider their health holistically.

Building on research of what works for young people, PHE in the West Midlands is committed to supporting stakeholders in developing an integrated and holistic local approach to address the health and wellbeing needs of young people.
